This agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Colli Labs Inc., a British Columbia company (“Colli Labs”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of Glob: Glob for Web at app.glob.design, the Glob apps for Android, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Linux, the glob command-line tool, this website, and the Colli account you sign in to Glob with (together, “Glob”).
By creating an account or using Glob, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Glob. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
Your account
- Age. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for using a service like Glob. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- Accurate details. Give accurate information when you create your account, and keep your email address current so we can reach you.
- Keeping it safe. Keep your password, sync passphrase and API keys secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at accounts@colli.ca.
- Your sync passphrase. Your synced data is encrypted with a key only your passphrase can unlock. We never receive the passphrase and cannot reset or recover it. If you lose it, and any recovery key you made, your synced data cannot be decrypted by you or by us.
- Usernames. We may change or reclaim a username that impersonates someone, infringes someone’s rights or is misleading.
- One account across Colli apps. Your Colli account may also sign you in to other Colli Labs apps. Those apps have their own terms; these terms cover Glob.
Your content
Your notes, tasks, links, canvases, chat messages and anything else you create or add to Glob (“your content”) belong to you. We claim no ownership of it.
You give Colli Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit and process your content only as needed to run Glob for you and the people you share it with: for example, to store and sync your encrypted data, deliver chat messages, and send your request to an AI provider when you use Glob’s AI. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except for copies we keep as our Privacy Policy describes.
You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to add it to Glob. Your synced content is encrypted so that we cannot read it, which means we do not review it; that does not change your responsibility for it.
We work to keep your data safe, but no service can promise it will never lose data. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Acceptable use
When you use Glob, you must not:
- break the law, or help or encourage anyone else to;
- create, store or share content that sexually exploits or endangers children, that infringes anyone’s intellectual property or privacy, or that is otherwise illegal;
- harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone, or promote violence or hatred against people;
- impersonate anyone, or mislead people about who you are;
- send spam, malware or phishing, or use Glob to deceive or defraud anyone;
- access another person’s account or data without permission, or get around Glob’s security, rate limits or credit metering;
- probe or test Glob for vulnerabilities, except to report one responsibly to support@colli.ca without harming users or their data;
- disrupt Glob or put an unreasonable load on it, or access it with automated means other than the tools and API keys Glob provides;
- copy, modify or reverse-engineer Glob’s software, except where the law allows it or an open-source licence permits it;
- resell Glob or offer it to others as a service without our written permission;
- use Glob’s AI in breach of these terms or of the usage policies of the AI providers it relies on;
- create accounts to get around a suspension or a limit we have applied.
To report abuse or content that breaks these rules, email support@colli.ca.
Glob’s AI and credits
- Optional. Glob’s hosted AI features run only when you use them. They send your request, and the notes Glob includes with it, to an AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic), as our Privacy Policy explains.
- Check what it says. AI answers are generated by machine learning models and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Review them before you rely on them, and do not treat them as professional advice, such as medical, legal or financial advice.
- What you get. As between you and Colli Labs, the answers Glob’s AI produces for you belong to you, to the extent the law allows. Similar answers may be produced for other people.
- Credits. Hosted AI use is measured in credits. Your account receives a monthly allowance of credits, and at the start of each monthly cycle your balance is reset to that allowance; unused credits do not carry over. We may also grant you extra credits. Your balance and usage are shown in Glob. When you run out, hosted AI features stop until your credits reset.
- No cash value. Credits have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they end when your account is deleted or terminated.
- Changes and limits. We may change the monthly allowance, the credits a feature uses, or the models Glob offers, and we may limit AI use to protect the service.
- Your own providers. If you use Apple Intelligence or your own API key with an AI provider, that use is between you and that provider, under its terms, and any charges from it are yours.
API keys and connected tools
You can create API keys that let other tools read or change your Glob data. You choose what each key can do, and you are responsible for keeping it secret and for what any tool does with it. You can freeze, rotate or revoke a key at any time, and we may revoke a key that is used in breach of these terms. Tools you connect are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Other services
Glob works with services run by other companies, such as Sign in with Apple and Google, iCloud, your web browser, and AI providers. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
If you got a Glob app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, that store’s terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for Glob or for supporting it.
Our software and rights
- Glob, including its software, design and the Glob name and logo, belongs to Colli Labs and its licensors. These terms do not give you any right to our trademarks.
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Glob apps for as long as you follow these terms. Open-source components inside Glob are licensed under their own licences.
- Glob changes over time. We may add, change or remove features, and the apps may download updates. The Mac app downloaded from glob.design and the Linux app check for updates and let you install them.
- If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Suspension and termination
- You can leave at any time. Stop using Glob, and delete your account at account.colli.ca/delete. Deletion takes effect after a 14-day grace period, and signing in during that period cancels it. Our Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and what is kept.
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if it is necessary to protect other users or Glob. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and explain why. While an account is suspended, a request to delete it waits until the suspension ends.
- If we stop offering Glob, we will give you reasonable notice where we can, so you have time to retrieve your content.
- Sections of these terms that by their nature should continue after your account ends, including your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and general terms, will continue.
Disclaimers
Glob is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, Colli Labs makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not promise that Glob will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors, that your data will never be lost, or that AI answers will be accurate.
Some places do not allow these disclaimers. Where that is the case, they apply only to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Colli Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to Glob or these terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or, where the law requires, for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you will compensate Colli Labs for any claims, losses and reasonable legal costs that arise from your content or from your breach of these terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of Glob, are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, and you and Colli Labs agree to their jurisdiction.
This is subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the place where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in Glob or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Glob after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, stop using Glob and delete your account.
General
- These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Colli Labs about Glob.
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies, and the unenforceable part is applied as closely to its intent as the law allows.
- If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we have not waived our right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or to an affiliate.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by agreement.
