Glob for Linux
Install the desktop app with one command, or choose an x86_64 package from the Linux release channel.
Install with one command
The default installer selects the stable AppImage, verifies its SHA-256 sidecar and release metadata, then creates a per-user launcher and icon.
curl -fsSL https://install.colli.dev/linux/install | shChoose a format or channel with GLOB_FORMAT and GLOB_CHANNEL. Supported formats are appimage, deb, rpm, and tar; channels are stable, beta, and nightly. Use --dry-run to see what would happen without downloading or changing files.
curl -fsSL https://install.colli.dev/linux/install | GLOB_FORMAT=deb GLOB_CHANNEL=beta sh -s -- --dry-runManual downloads
Browse the Linux release channel and its stable channel manifest to select a published version. The release artifacts are named:
Glob-<ver>-x86_64.AppImageglob_<ver>_amd64.debglob-<ver>.x86_64.rpmglob-<ver>-linux-x86_64.tar.xz
Flatpak is coming later, after the beta; there is no Flathub download link yet.
AppImage requirements
The AppImage requires unprivileged user namespaces. Ubuntu 24.04 blocks them by default. Glob's launcher refuses to run unsandboxed; use the deb or rpm package instead when your system blocks user namespaces.
Verify a download
Each artifact has a .sha256 sidecar. Download its matching sidecar from the selected release and verify the file locally. The channel also publishes public-key.txt. Signatures are verified by the app's updater.
sha256sum -c Glob-<ver>-x86_64.AppImage.sha256Uninstall
To remove an AppImage installed by the script, select the AppImage format and run the installer with --uninstall.
curl -fsSL https://install.colli.dev/linux/install | GLOB_FORMAT=appimage sh -s -- --uninstallThis removes the launcher at ~/.local/share/applications/design.glob.Glob.desktop and the design.glob.Glob.png icon. For deb or rpm, remove Glob with the same package manager used to install it.
